Calefactio’s GMP are economical yet rugged, compact and easy to use fluid feeders for small closed-loop systems. Their function is to automatically supply pressurized water or a water/glycol mixture to a closed-loop space heating, chilled water, snowmelt, solar, radiant heating or process control system, to ensure that minimum system pressure levels are maintained. The optional remote alarm panel kit will provide an audible and visual indication of a system leak.

The newest addition in the family, the GMP4, has great feactures including its rectangular design and compactness, meaning it occupies less space in occasionally cramped mechanical rooms. As well, it comes with its own wall-mount rack so the installer simply hangs the device at no further expense. The GMP4 is also equipped with an alarm floater so that users can hook up a sound alarm and be notified when liquid levels fall too low, a potential sign of leakage.

Calefactio’s service kits allow for a safe, practical and easily accessible installation. In addition to secure your installation in the event of a tank failure, the service center gives a complete overview of the system as it comes with a pressure gauge and service valve for both potable and heating versions, plus an automatic air vent on the heating version.

The ΔP Valve is the only one to be equipped with gage ports. The pressure differential in PSI, also know as ΔP (Delta P), is obtained by taking the readings of the gauge on each side of the pump.

The pump curves demonstrate the ΔP in head loss. In order to convert the readings of the gage in head loss, multiply the ΔP by 2.3.

Residential unit :

The unit is divided in three sections and the media is contained in bags that you can replace easily when needed. These media bags are the only ones in the industry to have date labels so the user knows exactly when it’s time to replace them.Use only the sections you need!

As the unit is divided in three sections, you can place one, two, or three bags in the unit, depending on the volume of condensate that needs to be treated.

Commercial unit :

CondenSAFE’s commercial version allows users to neutralize acidic condensate in boilers with a 3,500 MBH capacity (1,026 kWh). Equipped with a stainless steel plate, each unit is made of rugged rotomolded plastic containing Calefactio’s own engineered media. Its modular design means up to 3 CondenSAFE units can be installed in series, tripling treatment capacity to 10,500 MBH.

Commercial CondenSAFE units are designed to optimize raw condensate flow. A double walled reactor features additional buffer volume for preneutralization. Preneutralized condensate flows up vertically through the reactive media. A layer several centimetres thick of neutralized condensate is always present on the surface of the media, minimizing direct gas exchange between the ambient air, containing CO2, and the media.

This flow method features a number of major advantages:

• Better spatial distribution of condensate throughout the reactor
• Less risk of media cementation
• Better drainage with no loss of CO2-enriched ambient air
• Extended product service life
• Better contact between the condensate and the neutralizing media
• Reduces likelihood of channeling

Calefactio’s Cal-X-Tract air separators are equipped with a brush-type coalescing media, a Calvent automatic air vent with vent pipe connection and designed with an oversized housing leading to a very high efficiency. Their function is to take air out of hydronic heating systems, allowing a better energetic performance while reducing the costly maintenance frequency. Their sturdy design allows to maintain their efficiency for whole duration of the system’s lifetime.

OPERATION 
Because of the heating fluid’s drag effect, displaced micro-bubbles hook onto the coalescent media. They merge to form bigger bubbles, detach themselves from the media and then float up into the upper portion of the separator where they are released through the automatic air vent.
