CIPHEX West 2010 Recap

At a time when many North American trade shows are experiencing declining exhibitor participation and delegate attendance, the recent CIPHEX West - trade show and conference in Calgary bucked this trend. CIPHEX West, produced by the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH), attracted almost 3,000 industry delegates to the BMO Centre at Stampede Park on November 3rd and 4th. Attendees came from across Alberta as well as Saskatchewan, Manitoba, British Columbia, Nunavut and the Northwest Territories.

“We are ecstatic with the support we received from our exhibitors and show attendees, confirming the strength of the plumbing and heating industry in western Canada”, said Elizabeth McCullough, General Manager - Trade Shows with the CIPH. “Attendance increased by seven percent over the last CIPHEX event held in 2008 and engineer participation increased by 91 percent. In fact, we had the highest number of engineers who have ever attended a CIPHEX West show”, McCullough reported. “They were joined by contractors, wholesalers, government and municipal representatives, property managers, architects, home builders and designers”.

This, this show is a good one. It is because I’m seeing a lot of my customers that I know so I am staying in touch with them but I am also seeing an awful lot of customers that I didn’t (meet with lately) that are coming in from small towns throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, and BC and those are the type of customers that I really wouldn’t get to see on a regular basis. It’s nice to have them come here so that I can touch base with them and show them what we have.

I think it’s a good way for Plumbline to get some exposure to plumbers. ...it’s a good way to get exposure to people you normally never would. The guys in the trucks doing the work and that’s what we like.

Tools and features for Attendees:

Click on ' My Briefcase ' to login with your ecode or if you don't have an ecode create one!
Once you are logged in, click on ' My Profile ' to make changes to your personal information.
Use the exhibitor search and exhibitor list to create a list of favorite exhibitors. You can leave the site and come back later to print a list of your favorite exhibitors or when you print the floorplan your favorite exhibitors will be highlighted on the printed copy so you can plan your route! Click on ' My Expo Plan ' under ' My Briefcase ' to see your list of favorites
